Introducing School Council Messenger! Great news!  School Council now has a more efficient way to reach current parents --  School Council Messenger ! This is the same as the School Messenger, only from the School Council, not the Principal.  This email will allow us to reach families of currently registered kids on official School Council business.  We're still playing with how it will fit into the rest of our communications channels, but starting next week, we will be sending you information about upcoming events directly to your email address.   We will still maintain our other communications channels, since this email list does not include families who might be connected to Fern, but not currently registered (families of recent graduates for example), or families with more than two parents/guardians/grandparents involved in the school. It's also not available for certain categories of communication -- remember when we organized coffee and muffins for teacher...

Fern Gives Back! Giving opportunities for this week... Reminder that the last day to donate to our winter clothing donation drive  for  Romero House is tomorrow -  Thursday, November 28 Next week, we will be kicking off the Food Drive for the Parkdale Food Bank ! Non-perishable food, toiletries, baby supplies, pet food, and household supplies are much appreciated! Drop them off in front of office from December 2-6 . Stay tuned next week for more info on how Fern Gives Back , including Scooter Girl Days and the West End Toy Drive (week of December 9).

We’re excited to launch our Holiday Wine Basket Fundraiser , a fun and meaningful way to contribute to the  2025 grad party  while treating yourself this holiday season. For just  $20 per ticket , you’ll be entered to win a  basket of wine , perfect for holiday gatherings or as a thoughtful gift.

Fern Gives Back! Starting this  Thursday, November 22 , Fern School Council will be running a  winter clothing donation drive  for  Romero House  (a local charity supporting newly arrived refugee claimants in Toronto). Bring your gently used and laundered winter  coats, snow pants, raincoats, rain pants, boots, vests, sweaters, hats, scarves, mitts and gloves to the donation boxes outside the office. All sizes welcome. New socks only, please. Fern families in need of warm clothing are invited to drop by the upper office room on Nov.  25 from 5:00-5:45 pm and Nov. 27 from 8:15-9:00 am. The last day to donate winter clothing is Thursday, November 28.  And stay tuned for our upcoming toy and food drives!

Fern Fun Flicks Presents: KLAUS Save the date for our holiday movie night on December 5 . Get your tickets & pre-pay for pizza, drinks & snacks here . All proceeds go to Parkdale Community Food Bank. We'll need plenty of volunteers to get this movie night off the ground and to fill the bake sale table! Grade 7, 8 & high school students are very welcome to help!  Please sign up here
