Planning for Next school year: 2021- 2022

Image
As we continue to plan for 2021-2022 school year, we look forward to welcoming staff and students to school in September.  The TDSB will be sending information to you in August for you to choose/select a learning model for your child(ren). TDSB is waiting until August as they anticipate that the Ontario roll-out of vaccines throughout the summer and fall, families may feel more confident sending their child(ren) to school.  It is our sincere hope that we will return to in-person learning in September. We recognize that some students may still require the option of remote learning. Families will be provided with more information mid-summer to assist with making the decision that is best for their child(ren) .  Together, we learned so much from this past year and hope that we are able to provide the best learning environment for your child(ren) . We appreciate your continued support and partnership!

Charles G. Williams Park - Construction Update

I am reaching out to share that construction for improvements of Charles G. Williams Park will be starting the first week of this June 2021 (weather dependent). The City of Toronto is undertaking work to improve Charles G. Williams Park. This work will include installing a new playground and splash pad. In December 2019, we held a meeting to collect community feedback and suggestions for the park redesign. Parks staff and the consultant shared different options for the new playground and splash pad equipment, and gathered important feedback from the community on design preferences and community needs.   Based on the feedback that was gathered, the final design plan was developed, which you can view on our website:   https://gordperks.ca/status-on-the-charles-g-williams-park-improvements/ Please do not hesitate to email my office at   councillor_perks@toronto.ca   with any inquiries. For more information about the project, please visit:   https://www.toronto.ca/city-government/planning-development/construction-new-facilities/new-parks-facilities/wabash-community-centre/ The design team has used the project vision, design principles and Big Moves that were refined in the previous consultation phase to develop multiple site design options. You will have the chance to provide your feedback on the design options to help select a preferred design option.   There are two ways you can get involved.   1) Join us for a virtual public meeting on Tuesday May 11th at 6:30pm. To register for the event, please visit: https://tinyurl.com/WabashCRC-PHASE3MTG1 2) Share your feedback through the online survey which will remain open until May 31:   https://wabashcrc.ethelo.net/ If you have any questions about the project, feel free to reach out to my office.
