Effective April 1st, our grade 1-8 classes who eat at school will be eating lunch in the cafeteria.  Each class will have a designated table to sit and eat their lunch. Students enrolled in the hot lunch program will be served their lunch in the cafeteria.

Students new to Fern who are coming in for our Grade 4 Middle French Immersion, Grade 7 English Program and Grade 7 French Immersion Program are invited for an afternoon presentation and tour on April 29th from 1-2pm .

On May 25th, 5:30-6:30pm , Fern will host an in-person Welcome to Kindergarten Information Night for all our new JK and SK families in both French and English streams.  Please join us to learn about the Kindergarten Program at Fern and meet our Teaching staff, Parent Council, Rotary Teachers and Daycare staff. Parents, Guardian, Caregivers, Grandparents and children are invited to attend and learn valuable tips and tools to support a successful school journey to Fern. Bring your little ones with you and see what Kindergarten is all about!

Please save the date for our Grade 8 Graduation Ceremony at Parkdale Collegiate Institute, June 28th from 5pm -6pm in their beautiful Auditorium.  Our Staff and Parent Graduation Committees have been meeting and further details and celebrations and planning to follow.

We are excited to announce that the Fern Book Clubs are starting again. Junior Book Club (Grades 4-6) will meet every Monday at lunch from 12:15 to 12:45 in the library.  Senior Book Club (Grades 7-8) will meet every Tuesday at lunch from 12:15 to 12:45 in the library.  Please see Mr. Enticknap, Mrs. Heller, or Ms. Jamieson if you have any questions.

We are back at Fern!  Join Art in Action and create with us this spring. We have a brand new 8 week program on Thursdays at lunch time starting on Apr 7 - May 26 .  Don’t delay - register early to avoid disappointment. Click HERE to register.  Inspired by famous artists, our program has an art history component as well as the tactile experience of working with a variety of art materials including watercolours, acrylics, collage materials, oil pastels, chalk pastels and more. This art enrichment program is geared for success with approachable step-by-step projects. Students will create a new project each week. Open to students in grades 1 - 8.  Questions? Families of grade 8 students are reminded to mark their calendars for June 28th . More information will be coming regarding ceremony time and location.

The photographers from "Brightpics " will be returning to Fern on Thursday,  April 7th to take grad photos of our grade 8 students.  Please remind your graduate to be prepared for this exciting photoshoot!
