Hello friends.  One of the most action packed weeks of the school....  Toy Drive for Parkdale Community Food Bank -- There's still time to donate... WINE RAFFLE: It’s a busy time of year with lots of family time, parties to host, and parties to attend. We’d like to help you stock your collection.   All funds raised will go to the 2024 Grade 8 Graduation Party so we can send them off in style.  Step 1:  Drop a bottle of wine (or gift card) by December 15 @ 10pm. Drop off locations are (1) the Fern office, (2) 10 Fermanagh Ave, (3) 51 Westminster Ave.  Step 2:  Buy raffle tickets here:  https://app.galabid.com/ fernwineraffle   by December 19 @ 10pm. Step 3:  Pick up a basket with a selection of wines if you are the lucky raffle winner! The draw will be held on  December 20 . 

  Holiday Movie Night On December 7 is SOLD OUT We’ve set aside some tickets for volunteers so if you can volunteer to help out, sign up at the link  https://rb.gy/xzrc0p Doors open at 5:30pm. Movie starts at 6pm. Pizza, drinks and treats for sale - cash, credit or debit accepted. Help Us Collect a Thousand Toys for Families in Need -- But Hurry -- Time for the Toy Drive is Running Out! Fern Ave. PS, Umoja Soccer School (run by Fern parents), and other neighbourhood partners, including the Roncesvalles United Church, Scooter Girl, Guardian Pharmacy, Garden Ave. Public School and others are hoping to provide toys to 450 kids this holiday season.    Ways to help? DROP OFF  off a  new , unwrapped toy, book or game to the foyer of Fern Ave. Public school until  Monday, December 11   OR at Roncevalles United Church on  Wednesday December 13, 8am -- 10am only . SHOP  at Scooter Girl,  and they will give 10% cash back to the toy drive.  OR you can shop online, at  scootergirltoys.com  and they will deliver the toys for you to the toy drive. Another annual tradition -- the Scooter Girl shopping days will take place on  Dec 8 and 9 . Please note that all the area elementary schools have their shopping days on the same dates (Scooter Girl helps a lot of folks), so if you shop at Scooter Girl on these dates for toys or gift cards, tell them you are a Fern parent and Scooter Girl will donate 10% back to Fern Ave. P.S. for use in things like prizes and silent auction donations. OR you can ask for the $ to go to the toy drive. And,  WHAT A CONVENIENT TIME AND PLACE TO BUY TOYS FOR THE TOY DRIVE!  (Remember the deadline is Monday, Dec 10 for drop off at Fern Ave. PS)

  Scholastic book fair @ Fern P.S.  Monday, Dec. 11th - Thursday, Dec. 14th   The Scholastic book fair will be in the Fern library next week and will be open for business from 9AM - 5PM each day, with the exception of Wednesday when we will be open from 9AM - 6PM. The book fair will give students a chance to purchase popular book titles in either French or English, in addition to a variety of school supplies such as : pens, pencils, erasers and bookmarks.  It will be CASHLESS and to that end, all students will have an opportunity to visit the book fair during the day and may fill out a wish list of books (also see the flyer that is being sent home this week). We are staying open after school hours to allow for parents to purchase material with your preferred credit/debit card.  There will be door prizes available and moreover a portion of all sales will go towards purchasing more new books for our school.
