To anybody who is learning a band instrument at Fern, the cost for the program is $200 from January until June.

Do you like to sing? Come out and join one of Fern's Awesome Choirs! Primary Choir is for grades 1, 2 and 3 and will start on Wednesday, September 18 , after you eat lunch, in the music room (in the basement). We will come to the lunchroom to make sure everyone knows where they are going. Senior Choir is for grades 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 and will start on T hursday, September 19 , after you eat lunch, in the music room. Hope you can join us! Mr. Nano, Mme. Meghan and Mrs. Heller

We are recruiting parent volunteers to make this the best experience ever for the Grade 7 and 8 cast and crew, and we need your help. We are in immediate need of volunteers with Hair and Make up and with Lighting. This year's Fern Ave P.S. original Senior musical is coming May 8 & 9 ! Many hands make for lighter work. Lighting Manager - Do you have expertise in lighting? We need you! We need someone to gather lighting equipment, and run the lights during the show. You will need to attend a few rehearsals and all 4 performances on May 8th and 9th. We will have some student crew, but hope to gather a team to help put up and take down lighting. A message from Mr. Nano and Mrs. Heller. Fern is starting a Primary Choir and students in grades 1, 2, and 3 are invited to join. Practices will be held every Wednesday after lunch, in room 008. Our first practice will be Wednesday, March 20th . If you love to sing like we do, we hope you will come out and join us!

"Lost in Round Corners" is the sequel to last year's hit show! A visitor from the past is redirected to the technological wonders of modern-day, small town Ontario, and helps save a local girl from a relentless bully. Featuring live music, and some special guests, "Lost in Round Corners" is a mystical comedy for all ages. Come see the show May 10, 11, and 12 @ 7:00 . Tickets are available at the office for $8.00 in advance and $10.00 at the door.

LOST in ROUND CORNERS, this year's musical will will hold auditions at lunch Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week (Dec 12-14th) in the music room. Auditions pieces for main cast will be available Friday morning.  Auditions for the Musical Band will be held December 18 and 19th at lunch in the Music Room. Thank you, Mr. Brooks

Dear Parents/Guardians, Winter is coming and so is the Fern Winter Concert. The Junior students as well as the Senior Band and Strings students will be showcasing their talents on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 beginning at 6:30 PM . All students involved in the concert are asked to please be at Fern at 6:00 PM. The Kindergarten Concert will take place on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 2:15 to 3:15 PM. Spring hopefully won't be too far behind and we would love to welcome it with our Spring Concert. The concert will take place on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 beginning at 6:30 PM.  Our PRIMARY students who are taking part are asked to please meet at Fern at 6:00 PM. Thank you!

Dear Parents and Guardians, Tickets are now on sale for our production of Round Corners, on the nights of May 3 and 4, starting at 7:00 pm.  Tickets are $5.00 in advance and $8.00 at the door. Please Note:  As this is a senior musical, some scenes may be frightening for younger audience members. Due to the extremely limited space in the auditorium, please purchase your tickets from Vera Ciric in the main office asap.  Cheques can be made payable to Fern Avenue Public School.  Please indicate the night you wish to attend. Fern's New Senior Musical is coming May 3 & 4! "Round Corners" tells the story of two friends racing to find a magic glove in the middle of a dark forest, before the mean daughter of the Mayor beats them to it.  On the way, the girls must face their fears before performing in their town's star search! Featuring live music performed by students at Fern, and surprise cameos by the school's staff, "Round Corners" is a post-modern musical twist on the Wizard of Oz.   Parents please note younger audience members may be frightened by some scenes. Call time for students is 5:45 PM. Show time is 7:00 PM sharp. Tickets are $5.00 in advance or $8.00 at the door.  Come on out and support the return of plays at Fern!

If your child has been offered a part in our upcoming original musical A Night in Round Corners, you can download the rehearsal schedule at the following link:             http://bit.ly/roundcornersschedule Due to the time commitment required for these roles, and a protracted time schedule, it is imperative that your child comes to all schedule rehearsals for his or her part. While most of these will be held during the lunch break on Mondays and Fridays—plus Tuesdays for the singing parts and our musicians—as we get closer to the show performances, after-school rehearsals will be necessary. Due to overwhelming response, auditions for Fern's original musical "A Night in Round Corners" will be held also on Monday, January 11th at 11:45 in the Music Room.  All students who have already signed up, but did not have an opportunity to audition today, and any additional students interested in trying out for the play, will be seen at that time.
