We have a lot jammed into June, and we're going to need a lot of parent volunteers to pull it off. We need people to mark their calendars, and sign up to help!
1. JUNE 5 -- STAFF APPRECIATION BREAKFAST -- URGENT -- PLEASE SIGN UP NOW!!
We need food contributions and helpers to make this breakfast buffet for our whole staff sing. Your granny's cinnamon bun recipe? Fabulous Fritatta? Fruit plate? Or maybe you're a "bring the juice" kind of person, or, organize the buffet table kind of volunteer.

Items can be brought to the school on Wednesday June 5th between 730am-7:45am.
For families that can't make the drop-off the morning of June 5, you can drop off on Tuesday from 7pm-9pm at 170 Fern Ave
2. 🏳️🌈 WE'RE THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE ONE OF THE BEST EVENTS OF THE YEAR -- JUNE 10TH IS FERN PRIDE DAY! 🏳️🌈
The School Council Equity Committee, together with the student driven GSOWA (Gay Straight or Whatever Alliance -- so named by the kids) presents the annual Fern Pride Day celebration. This will be an all day event and the Equity Committee as well as GSOWA can use some volunteers. We are still ironing out the details with Mr. Ruttan and GSOWA but we know the times and general tasks we would love help with. Please see the document below for volunteer sign up and items you could sign up to donate!
3. GRADE 8 Parents -- Help Build boats! Help with the race!
We're gearing up for Grade 8 Boat Building June 18, 19 and 20! A great way to use that post-Montreal trip time.
Thanks to all of your help, we've got the box collection in progress, but if you want to sign up to help with portions of the main event, please see the link below. We'll be wrestling cardboard on the 18th, design and build on 19th, racing across the Fern pool on the 20th.
4. LAST BUT NOT LEAST -- Annual year end Fern family festival -- FERNAPALOOZA -- WEDNESDAY JUNE 26 5-8:30pm.
This is the big one friends! We need a village to get this off the ground. We need helpers for everything from facepaint to games, BBQ to cake competition, set-up to clean-up. We also need your treats for the bake sale, your pre-loved stuffies and toys for prizes AND we’re bringing back Mystery Bags, too! It’s all happening!
We have many volunteer spots for adults, and kids grade 7 and up! This is also a great opportunity for high schoolers to snag some volunteer hours.
