Volunteers
An event of this magnitude couldn't happen without an army of volunteers. A lot of people helped (and I can't name them all here), but a special thanks to the team leads of various parts of the event:
Connie Behr and Rita Kotzia for the incredible decor, Christine Wons and Steph Wons for the food, Laura Simpson for running the bar, DJ Neel Dayal, Madeleine Cruickshank for running the money, and Katie Needs and Sarah Johnston for jumping in to help collect for Silent Auction. And a huge thanks for the person who ran all the pieces, Bliss Edwards, our Spring Fling project manager/bus driver/ship's captain.
And you!
Finally, thanks to all of you for coming. It was amazing to see a range of people from parents of kids in their primary years at Fern, to parents whose kids are in university, but who still love to come to the party to see their friends with younger kids. We had parents who've been at Fern for less than a year, and some of us for more than a decade. We've built a tight knit community, and I personally think that events like this make our whole neighbourhood a better place to be.
Next stop.... Staff Appreciation, Boat Building, Pride Day, Fun Fair....
Watch your email for our jammed June calendar! We have plenty more opportunities for you to get involved in your child's school community.
Can't wait to see you all again soon.
