There will be a talent show showcasing the Fern Senior Students. Sign Up:  Tuesday, May 30th to Wednesday, June 7th Auditions are to be held on Monday, June 12th, Wednesday, June 14th and Thursday, June 15th  in the auditorium between 12 noon and 12:35 PM. The Talent Show will take place on Wednesday, June 28th in the auditorium, during the afternoon. Please note the talent show is for grade 7 & 8 students only. Thank you.

Dear Parents and Guardians,  Dragonboat is cancelled for this Tuesday, May 30, 2017, due to unsafe water levels at the Sunnyside Rowing club. Dear Fern Parents and Community, We are very proud to announce that the 2017 Spring Fling was a HUGE success. Together we raised 20,000 dollars for the school! So if you ever wondered if your basket item or small cash donation was worth it, we can tell you it definitely was. We took those contributions and location, bar and theme and turned them into a 20 thousand dollar event. Without the auction part of our party we would not have come close to raising this kind of money. So thank you for your donations and believing in this event. Thank you to the many volunteers who helped make this event happen, our friends and family and to all our local businesses who supported us and to everyone who came out and danced, drank, shopped and looked fabulous! This Friday, May 19th we are officially launching our Jump Rope for Heart, and Hoops/Games for Heart events for our school with an assembly for our primary, junior, and senior students. The assemblies (Primary 12:55-1:25, Junior 1:30-2:05, Senior 2:10-2:45) are to inform our students of the importance of being physically active and how fundraising for the Heart and Stroke foundation helps our society. Dear Parents/Guardians, Five Primary classes will be performing at the Spring Concert which will take place on: Wednesday, May 24, 2017 At 6 p.m. The following classes will be presenting: Ms. Edelstein, Grade 1, Room 107 Ms. Nitsis,  Grade 1/2, Room 213 Mr. Dibon-Smith, Grade 2, Room 214 Ms. Nave, Grade 2, Room 206 Ms. Eyre, Grade 2/3, Room 208 Your child’s teacher will send out a note on how your child should be dressed for the concert.  (It is not mandatory to dress as outlined below.) Saturday, June, 10th from 10 am - 3 pm is Fern's annual Fun Fair . The Fun Fair is an action-packed, super fun day for the kids to eat cotton candy, jump around on bouncy castles, play games, win prizes, and even have the chance to dunk the principal in the dunk tank. Parents can hang out with friends and neighbours, have peameal bacon sandwiches from Rowe Farms, and peruse our successful wine and basket silent auctions. All of this is put on by Fern parents, and we could use your help. In order to make the Fern Fun Fair a successful fundraiser, your assistance is needed in all areas. The Eco Team is very excited about our upcoming Bike Rodeo! CultureLink Community will be delivering this program in partnership with TDSB and EcoSchools. Who : Only the primary students who have returned their signed permission forms to their teachers When : Wednesday, May 10, 2017 for the whole morning, 9:00 am to 11:45 am Where : Junior yard All children participating in the Bike Rodeo must bring their own bicycle, a lock (and key), and a helmet. We recommend that your child also bring a water bottle and healthy snacks. Please apply sunscreen before arriving to school on Wednesday morning. Important information:

Tickets are now available for "Lost in Round Corners," Fern's latest original musical. Showtimes are May 10, 11, and 12th at 6:30pm. Tickets can be purchased through the office for $8.00 in advance, or $10.00 at the door.  But seating is limited, so get your tickets now!

Kindly note that sign up for the School Cash Online program is only available when an event happens for a particular class. For example, if Room 205 is going on a field trip, the office will post to School Cash Online and include the students included on that excursion; parents can then apply and pay online.
