Welcome Back! Fern Ave's first School Council meeting will be on Wednesday, Sept 19 at 6:30pm

Hello and Welcome to an exciting new year at Fern!

Our first School Council meeting will be on Wednesday, September 19th at 6:30pm in the Staff Room. Come one, come ALL as we kick off the year by electing a new Executive, hearing from our new Principal, and setting the vision and focus for the 2018-2019 school year.

Please refer to the attached flyer for an overview of School Council, the Executive positions, the existing committees, and for a sign up sheet.

Three important items to keep in mind:

1 - We are in need of a new Chair / Co-Chair and Secretary. If you are interested, or know someone who would be great in either of those roles, please be sure to forward them to and get them excited about the impact they can have on Fern Ave! Elections will happen at the beginning of the Council meeting on September 19th. Feel free to send me an email with any questions.
2 - The budget meeting will take place in October once the new executive has been elected.
3 - If you have a pressing agenda item to add to the first meeting, please send an email to ASAP.

Choir Performing at the Spring Concert

Dear Families,  We are so happy to have such a large enthusiastic choir!   Fern's wonderful students in Choir have been practicing two songs for the Spring Concert on April 18th.  They are: The Best Day of my life and My Own Superhero. Here are some notes regarding the Spring Concert:  *We will be walking to Parkdale Collegiate for a run through after morning attendance on Thursday April the 18th at 9:20 am.  (Two primary of our classes will be on a field trip and choir members in those classes will not attend the run through. ) **Volunteers are very welcome to walk with the Choir to and from Parkdale Collegiate. (Meet at 9 am at Fern)   *We aim to be back by lunch, however sometimes runthroughs take a while. Therefore please pack snacks and water with your child for the day. We will eat lunch when we return.     * The evening of The concert, students are to be at Parkdale Collegiate for 6:00 PM . * Students in the concert are encouraged to wear all black.  *Caregiver/ Parent pick
