Dance-a-Thon | Thursday March 21st!
Hello Fern Kids and Parents,
Fern’s epic annual Dance-A-Thon will take place Thursday, March 21st from 9:30 am - 3 pm with all Fern kids getting their turn to dance in shifts throughout the day! This is a chance for students to get out of their chairs and dance, dance, dance. It’s also an opportunity for the kids to contribute to the raising of much needed funds for the school.
Kids, start gathering your pledges now! The class with the highest participation wins a pizza party! The deadline for pledges is 3pm, March 21st. Raising money for the Dance-A-Thon means more enriched programs and a new playground, please click here for more information on where your money goes.
WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR PLEDGES?
**A pledge form will come home with your child, please make sure they track any online pledges to donate, and bring this form to the Dance-A-Thon on March 21 along with any donated cash. If you can't find your pledge form, please download one here or at donatetofern.com.**
Parents and other lovely adults making pledges: The office CANNOT collect money, so we're getting creative, and have THREE easy ways for you to donate.
1. Parents will receive a notification from School Cash Online and a link to an OPTIONAL $10 ticket (don't worry, your child will go to the Dance-A-Thon with or without a ticket, this is just an easy way for parents to donate). We will track those tickets and allocate the $ to your child's classroom.
2. If you want to donate more or less online, then instead of buying the optional ticket, click the DONATE button online at School Cash Online https://tdsb.schoolcashonline.com/Home/SignIn. Donations of more than $25 through School Cash Online will receive a receipt. Please be sure to include your child’s teacher or classroom number in the "Memo" box when you donate so we can calculate for the Classroom Pizza Challenge, and please make a note on your child's pledge form.
3. Complete the pledge form and send cash with your child on March 21, and we will collect it at the door, and allocate it to your child's classroom for the Classroom Pizza Challenge. Only donations made before March 21 will count towards the Classroom Pizza Challenge.
Kids collecting pledges: Collect donations in either cash, or a pledge to donate online at School Cash Online https://tdsb.schoolcashonline.com/Home/SignIn. You can either add up your cash and get a parent to make a donation through School Cash Online, OR, you can bring your cash to the Danceathon, and a parent volunteer will collect it, and make sure your class gets credit. Only donations made before March 21 will count towards the Classroom Pizza Challenge.
Want to volunteer?
We need parent volunteers to help collect and organize the money, chaperone kids to and from classes, hand out glow-stick bracelets, and of course, show the younger generation how to bust a move on the dance floor. If you’d like to help out with this event, please click here to sign up for a shift. See dance schedule here.
