Vanessa the Math Guru

Get your math fortune told and learn some math hacks. Vanessa used to hate math. In fact, she failed grade 11 math twice! She changed her perspective and went on to earn her Masters in Mathematics Education and now runs a successful Math Tutoring business. You might have heard her recently on the CBC talking about her views on the state of our current Math curriculum and how to cope with Math Anxiety.
Vanessa is also the author of Math Hacks with Scholastic (which will be available for $13)

Dundas West Animal Hospital
Come meet the Vet Dr. Folosea

The Operating Room
Learn and test your Surgery skills with Dr. Richard Stien

Western Tech CS Robotics Club
Come meet members of Western’s Robotics Team, 865, who competed at the World Championships in Detroit last year with great success.
Team 865 finished 6th out of over 3500 teams in the world. 865 was proud to be one of five Canadian teams to attend.

Fern STEM Club
Meet our Fern STEM club and see what they've been up to and launch some marshmallows.
Our STEM clubs are generously run by parent volunteers (Toby, Rick and Stephen). If you're interested in helping out let them know, they are always looking for more support to keep the clubs running. (no STEM experience necessary)

Here's the latest Map of activities for the evening.
