Rehearsal
There will be a rehearsal on Tuesday, May 14 at Parkdale Collegiate which is one day before the actual spring concert. It is not a dress rehearsal and students will wear their school clothes. Students will be leaving right after afternoon attendance (approximately 12:45 p.m.). Feel free to join us walking there as we will appreciate extra supervision. Check with your child’s classroom teacher.

We will return to the school hopefully in time for regular dismissal.

Spring Concert On Wednesday, May 15, 2019,
Your child will be participating in a dance/movement piece as part of the Spring Concert at Parkdale Collegiate at 6:30 p.m.
Only the following classes are participating in the Dance/Movement Piece:
Ms. Balaisis, gr.4;
Ms. Tse, gr.4/5,
Ms. Mably, gr.4/5, and
Mr. Dibon-Smith gr.4/5.
(The remaining junior classes will be involved in music/instrumental pieces with Mr. Nano. He will send out instructions for his classes, the band and the strings performers.)

Please arrive dressed with hair and make-up (if needed) prepared. You will not have time or the space to get ready at Parkdale.

At the end of this note, please review what your child is to wear. It is not mandatory. Feel free to wear whatever your child prefers. It is only a suggestion/guideline.

Please make sure your child has eaten a light dinner and visited the bathroom BEFORE arriving at Parkdale. Please do not send snacks with your child. Water is allowed.

On the evening of the Spring Concert, students are expected to be at Parkdale Collegiate by 6 p.m. Enter through the front doors of the school on Jameson Ave. There will be signs in the foyer to indicate where to drop off your child. Your child will wait in the assigned classroom supervised by the homeroom teacher until the end of the full concert. Students can bring a book, small activity, cards, etc. to occupy themselves during the supervised time in the classroom.

Please do not retrieve your child until the end of the concert. After the concert is over, you may retrieve your child from the classroom. Please make sure all personal belongings are gathered and taken home. Please encourage your child to tidy up as it is a high school classroom the next day.

It would be great if parents could walk with their children and guests to Parkdale Collegiate on the evening of the concert. It is located at the south-east corner of Jameson and Queen Street, and is a short walk from Fern School. The street parking is limited and the school’s parking lot is small.

Thank you for your support. Any questions, please direct them to Ms. Jolic via the office.
