Playground News!

We're getting close to meeting our playground goal! Our fundraising deadline is October 1, 2019 to see construction start the Spring of 2020!

We currently have $120k in funds towards our playground. What does this mean? Together with the TDSB playground planners, we've divided up the Playground Revitalization project into 5 "Buckets" to prioritize our spending:

Bucket 1: $85,000 -- A new play structure, mud kitchen, and outdoor classroom in the Primary Yard. Bucket 2: $50,000 -- Revitalized basketball court in the Senior Yard.
Bucket 3: $40,000 -- OPAL outdoor storage and outdoor performance space, picnic tables, and benches. Bucket 4: TBD -- Improvements to gardens and pathways at the front of the school.
Bucket 5: TBD -- Improvements to daycare/kindergarten enclosure to improve surface and expand concrete path.

With the $120k we currently have, we have enough to pay for Bucket 1 -- the new play structure and other improvements to the Primary Yard! And we have $35k towards Bucket 2 -- the basketball court!

If you'd like to see the basketball court, or any of the other components of the Playground Revitalization completed, please help!

How Can I Help?
Our biggest fundraising events of the year are right around the corner and here's some ways you can help:

Spring Fling, Saturday May 25 -- Donate to your child's class basket for the Silent Auction -- Donate a Silent Auction item -- tickets? cottage rental? services? -- Buy a ticket to the Spring Fling -- Bid on some of our great auction items -- Volunteer at the Spring Fling. We'll need lots of help setting it up and taking it down again, along with organizing Silent Auction items, bartending, taking tickets, etc.

Fun Fair, Saturday June 8 -- Volunteer to run a game at the Fun Fair -- Bake cookies for the Fun Fair bake sale -- Help put together the Haunted Hallway with the grade 7&8's -- Help out at the face painting table -- Donate a bottle of wine the wine raffle -- Bring your kids and have a great time -- ... watch this space for more volunteer opportunities at the Fun Fair

AND, keep an eye open for details about our 125th Anniversary Gala "A Taste of Roncy" to be held Friday, September 27!

What about monetary donations?
We'll also happily take your money. If you donate on School Cash Online https://tdsb.schoolcashonline.com/Home/SignIn your donation of $25 more will automatically generate a tax receipt.
If you'd like to consider a more substantial donation, here are some ways we will be recognizing donors: □ $500 for a plaque on our recognition wall
□ $1000 for a plaque on a picnic table
□ $2000 for a plaque on a log bench

We are working on other ways to recognize donors, so if you or your business is considering larger donation, please reach out to us.
