Social Networking and Online Safety -- June 10, 6:30 p.m.
Questions about cyber safety? Online bullying? Sexting?
Fern Ave. P.S. School Council, together with Fern Ave. P.S. Admin, presents the Parent Reaching Out grant speaker for 2018/2019, Paul Davis, June 10, 6:30 p.m.
Paul Davis is a renowned cyber-safety specialist. He has worked for close to 30 years in Information Technology. He is a leading expert in online safety and provides training to the RCMP, various police and public security organizations across the country, Children's Aid Societies, banks, and hundreds of schools, reaching thousands of parents, students, and teachers. He has spoken at numerous conferences across the country, and is an experienced commentator, appearing in TEDx, and numerous media outlets across the country.
Paul Davis will be at Fern Ave. P.S. Monday, June 10, 6:30 p.m. to present to our parent community on the topic of Social Media and Online Safety.
We know it's a busy week, but this will be a fantastic and informative presentation.
Paul will be speaking to our kids during the day, and will tailor a discussion specifically for parents in the evening. This is a timely topic, and important for all parents, especially those with tweens and teens who are anxious to get online and participate in social media. You may think that online bullying or "sexting" only happens with older kids, but these are live issues that happen in any age group, and happen right in our homes and schools.
Pizza and child-care will be available. Please RSVP so we have a sense of how much pizza to purchase.
Look forward to seeing you there.
Best,
School Council Exec
