Art in Action

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It has been over a month since schools have closed in Ontario (can you believe it?) and we are all living in a new world. Everyone has had to make huge adjustments in their lives over the past few weeks. Self-isolating has children home all day every day and parents are trying to parent, teach, work, and manage all of the changes that have taken place. How is everyone passing their time during this period of self-isolation? Reading books, watching movies, listening to music, and being inspired by visual arts. Make more art!

There has never been a better time for everyone to explore the possibilities that making art opens up. Sometimes all that anyone needs is just a place to start. With this in mind, Art in Action has created art kits to do at home to spark a passion for the arts. These art kits have step-by-step instructions just like a regular Art in Action class!

· Have your child take a screen break and flex their art muscles!

· Included is an art history lesson as well as the art supplies needed for each project.

· To learn more about these kits and to place an order please visit our website.

We are trying to let as many parents as we can know about the free online content we are creating as well as the art kits that can be ordered. Many of our ideas can be done at home and with supplies families may already have on hand.

We are also working on Sparking creativity every day in May with Art in Action which beginning the first of May, will have a new art-making idea posted every day to inspire kids (and parents!) to create.

Like you, we are really looking forward to schools returning to normal and running Art in Action again at Fern!

Wishing you and your families all the best and we are looking forward to sparking more creativity.
