Congratulations to the Senior Girls Soccer team - South Toronto City Champions!

  SENIOR GIRLS  SOCCER                     SOUTH TORONTO CHAMPIONS          FERN AVENUE TEAM Congratulations to our senior girls soccer team that became the south Toronto city champions last week!! Our team had a great season, playing awesome soccer and winning all of their games including an exciting city final against Winchester that went into overtime and penalty kick shoot-outs! Throughout our season games and practices our girls improved their individual and team skills and most importantly had a lot of fun. Congratulations to the championship girls team. We are proud of  you! Go Fern Go!!

Fern 2023 Cross Country Results!

  Congratulations to our entire cross country team for a great season of running and their performances at the cross country meets. Our team started their running season from the second week of September and participated in the south conference cross country on October 13th with over 220 students! Our athletes did really well and we had 85 of our students representing us at the next meet at the south Toronto finals. Our school had among the highest number of students that qualified in the city finals, and in the Toronto city finals most of our athletes finished in the top half of their races with many finishing in the 20s among over 130 runners in each race. Our top runners were Emmett Coles and Zadie Biss-Mantziounis who finished 4th and 7th respectively. Finally our grade 7 boys team came in first at the city finals meet!!   Our school team had one of the most successful cross country teams, but most importantly had a large body of our students participating and support...

Meet your TDSB Trustee at the School Council Meeting -- Tuesday October 24 by Zoom, 6:30-8:30 Open to all parents, caregivers, and interested grandparents, aunties, uncles, and other family members.  We will be hosting your elected school board representative, Trustee Debbie King, at our next School Council meeting.  Parents and caregivers who receive emails from Rosanna in the TDSB Messenger system will receive a Zoom link on the morning of the event (i.e. if you already got this note from Rosanna, then you'll get the link). Howard Public School Fall Fête Needs Student Volunteers!

Our friends at one of our neighbourhood feeder schools, Howard Public School, are holding their annual Fall Fête on October 28th from 10:00am - 2:00pm .    There are lots of fun ways for students in grade 7 and 8's to help out and make this event a success. High school students - this is a fun way to earn some volunteer hours.   If you'd like to volunteer, please use the sign up genius link and look for any of the slots marked "student".

Fern School Council Needs YOU!

A strong school community creates the foundation for our children to learn and thrive. School Council plays an important role bringing together school staff, administration and interested parents to create a place for discussion, idea sharing and planning of initiatives. The School Council operates with a Council Executive (elected roles) and interested parents who participate in monthly meetings over the course of the school year. Please note that simply by being the parent/guardian of a current Fern Avenue student you are a member at large of the School Council. As a member at large you are always welcome to participate in the monthly Council meetings. Treasurer We are looking for a new Treasurer. In this role, you are responsible for balancing the Council’s books, collecting, counting, and depositing proceeds from fundraisers, making payments, preparing, and presenting budget to Council.
